Bret BeallBret S. Beall, MS, PhD (Cand) is the CEO and founder of Global Organic Designs – Discovering Earth’s Science & Spirit (GOD-DESS).   He offers private consultations, group presentations, demonstrations of all kinds, and articles on a wide range of topics that help people live fantastic lives with minimal time, effort or money.  He has used his rigorous scientific training to synthesize psychology, sensory input, and logic, which he has applied to global cuisine, décor, lifestyle concepts, indoor gardening and travel planning to provide customized services for each individual in an easy-to-understand, easy-to-create and easy-to-maintain style.  For more information or to request his FREE e-newsletter, please visit www.god-dess.com.

Bret’s background is as diverse as his educational lifestyle service offerings.  He was born in California’s San Francisco Bay area, and his family often took vacations to the seashore and to the redwood forests, where he first felt the great interconnectedness of all life.  His family later moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he continued his environmental interests (including growing houseplants).  Soon, his family relocated to a farm in the Ozarks of Southern Missouri.  He and his family raised cattle, ducks, geese and rabbits, and he worked on a neighbor’s pig farm, all of which allowed him to witness the cycle of birth, life and death firsthand.  His family grew a variety of produce, precipitating his learning about growing, preparing and preserving food.  It was also at this time that Bret truly began developing his talent in art, design and esthetics.

Bret earned his undergraduate degree in geology at the University of Missouri - Columbia, graduating with general honors and honors in geology; his coursework included liberal arts courses (art, philosophy, history) along with science (geology, physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, anthropology).  Living in an off-campus efficiency, he taught himself the basics of simple cooking and living.   Bret did his Masters and PhD work in evolutionary paleontology at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where his studies included geology, paleontology, biology, ecology and evolution, all presented within the framework of proper scientific methodology.

Ann Arbor’s terrific Farmer’s Market inspired Bret to act on his interests in ethnic cuisines and entertaining; as a graduate student, he had to do this on a budget and efficiently.  He satisfied his artistic inclinations by doing scientific illustration to accompany his original research.  Teaching courses and speaking publicly at student seminars, at national and international conferences, and at various clubs’ and organizations’ meetings provided a level of excitement I had not experienced previously as I shared my knowledge with others.  “Sharing” was the key, and this was when the seeds of GOD-DESS were planted.

Bret joined Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History as Curatorial Coordinator of Mazon Creek Paleontology.  He invested very long hours on both his museum responsibilities and his own research, publishing papers and continuing to give talks and presentations on diverse topics); this schedule required time-efficiency and cost-effectiveness.  Soon, Bret realized that he did not want to spend the rest of his life in the academic world.  He had achieved a high level of international success, for which he continues to be grateful (his work made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, and Johnny Carson once made a joke about his research on The Tonight Show).  As he left paleontology, the seeds of GOD-DESS began to sprout and grow.

Bret spent the next decade in not-for-profit healthcare association management, honing his skills in efficiency maximization, streamlining, prioritization, customer service, budgeting, organization, communication and simplification, and applying the rigors of his scientific training to the needs of his clients.  Those clients experienced extraordinary growth and profitability.  The hours were often very long, so time-effectiveness and efficiency-management continued to be important, if not vital.  He traveled extensively in his various roles (organizational representative, event organizer, executive manager, and lecturer), and often added vacation time to cost-effectively explore the various cities and regions that he was fortunate to visit; this further enhanced his travel planning skills.  During this period, GOD-DESS grew into a fledgling company.

After a decade of helping my clients achieve almost 900% budgetary growth, 900% membership growth, 400% meeting attendance growth, and enhanced visibility that cannot be quantified, he knew it was time to become his own boss and devote himself 100% to GOD-DESS and helping even more people attain happy, successful lives.

Bret believes that we are always in the right place at the right time.   Therefore, everything he does, whether paleontology, or executive healthcare management, or lifestyle counseling/consulting, he does well, to the absolute best of his abilities.  A lifetime of experience and research has created GOD-DESS and everything it can do for you.  Don’t hesitate to contact Bret through www.god-dess.com or 773.508.9208 to arrange a life-enhancing consultation, a talk, a demonstration or an article.
