Doug Stevenson

Doug Stevenson is a professional speaker, trainer and speaker’s coach. He is the creator of the Story Theater Method for Making Content Come Alive, and the author of Never Be Boring Again – Make Your Business Presentations Capture Attention, Inspire Action and Produce Results, and The 21-Step How to Write and Deliver a Dynamite Speech System. He coaches leaders and speakers worldwide to develop effective, powerful speeches, and to use strategically crafted stories. He helps anyone who speaks to become an AMAZING speaker.

Doug Stevenson was a professional actor in his hometown of Chicago and in Hollywood for over 16 years. He acted on stage in everything from Snoopy to Shakespeare, and in movies and TV. But alas, Doug did not become rich and famous as an actor! He escaped Hollywood in 1985 and found his home in Colorado Springs, where he created business success with his real estate brokerage, Sherlocks Homes. He then discovered the career of professional speaking and he developed and delivered programs on change, leadership, customer service, medical practice success, and presentation skills. 

He is a past president of the Colorado Chapter of the National Speakers Association, and a former columnist for the Denver Business Journal. His articles and interviews have been published in many national publications, including Selling Power, Investors Business Daily and Professional Speaker Magazine. His Story Theater Method is referenced in several books on presentation skills and training published in the US and France. 

Doug now speaks to thousands of people each year on presentation skills, speech construction and storytelling for business, training and sales. Using high energy and humor, he shares memorable stories to make his points. Doug mixes his sales, marketing and leadership experience with his hilarious theatrical talent to create entertaining and powerful programs that inspire audiences to make their presentations come alive and hit their mark. Doug has addressed audiences of speakers, trainers, and business professionals in the US, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, the UK, Singapore, Australia and Germany.

Doug has coached thousands of professional speakers, executives, business leaders, trainers, sales reps and managers, celebrities, politicians, ministers and more, on crafting their presentations and using stories to make their points, motivate their audience, brand their message, or sell their product or service. He conducts monthly two-and-one-half-day Story Theater Retreats, limited to 5 or 6 students, in Colorado Springs and various locations overseas.
