An Address from Gaia

Last year I was invited to conduct a special evening event at the International Science and Consciousness Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It was called An Address from Gaia and our Earth Gaia asked to speak through me about the next stages in human evolution.

This unorthodox address brought this mystic out of the closet, and having survived to tell the tale, I'll happily share a small part of An Address from Gaia with you.

In the beginning as we know from both science and religion there was only space. Although space may look empty and therefore without life, you now know that what exists beyond the realm of your bodily senses is boundless energy organized by consciousness. Currently, many people think that decoding the DNA will be the major achievement of the 21st century. However, the discovery of conscious beings of energy and how to work with them to create a healthy world will have a more long-lasting impact on humanity. With this knowledge humans will be able to heal our planet more quickly than you might realize at this time.

The source of the problem has been the over-development of the intellect in humans at the expense of connection to their feeling nature. When one is connected to one's feelings, one connects to one's heart. When this happens one is able to love oneself, and by extension love all life. If humans were able to fully feel and to love they would be working with Divine Law to oversee the development of all life on our planet. Even calling us a planet is a way of distancing oneself from who we are. We are a living being, as you are a living being. We have organs and bodies and senses as do you.

We beseech you to move from your overextended intellect, and with the same curiosity that is your great gift, come exploring us with your senses and feelings. One of your poets Walt Whitman said much the same thing when he wrote, "Re-examine all you have been told. Dismiss what insults your soul and your very flesh will become a great poem."

To return to your feelings is to recover your connection with divine law. And it is much more than that. It will reconnect you to joy and celebration. This next period of evolution that we collectively are entering is exciting and will bring a quantum jump in consciousness for humans. This next two thousand years, what is commonly called the Aquarian Age, will witness a rebirth of alchemy. One might say that alchemy is the science of applying the spiritual laws to the physical and to other levels of consciousness, whereas metaphysics is the study of what these spiritual laws of consciousness are. Through alchemy one is able to work with the beings of energy in order to manifest in three dimensional consciousness.

Alchemy has moved into disuse and in some cases disfavour since the Middle Ages when science moved more and more into concretized form in efforts to dissect and understand matter. This process is still going on to some extent, but has now largely run its course. No amount of understanding of how parts work in isolation will ever explain how to create according to the laws on which our universe is founded. However, it has not been a wasted journey. Quite the contrary. It is necessary to ground knowledge in a foundation of matter in order for the seeds to be solidly rooted. Only with solid roots in the physical world can parallels to the spiritual dimensions eventually be discovered. Now we need to grow that knowledge into wisdom, which can only happen through an alchemical process of transformation. This is why alchemy, along with metaphysics, will enter the realm of usable sciences in this century.

Remember that one of the central alchemical laws is that whoever penetrates to the heart of the mystery thereafter becomes its guardian. Many of you in your chosen work and life have crossed the threshold into metaphysics and have felt our heart beat and the pulse of life that underlies everything. We now think of you as our guardian and guardians of all the children of the Earth and the children not yet born. To become a conscious creator simply help all beings. Be a light for others to follow, a helping hand in service, a kind word of encouragement and a generous heart to give what is needed. As we the Earth have given life to you, give life to others and look after all my children.
