Wildcrafters Herbs & Everlastings

If you have an interest in the magical properties of herbs and make use of them in your daily life, you know that positively energized herbs are not always easy to come by.

So much of a herb's power depend on the person who grows, picks and packages it.

In my experience, herbs, like any other substance, pick up the energies of those who are preparing them for sale.

I am always careful to choose herbs that I know are picked and prepared with love. This is the reason that I have been buying Wildcrafters Herbs & Everlasting herbs from a little Wiccan store in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for the past year. The herbs and herbal blends that Wildcrafters prepare vibrate with the energy of their properties and the loving spirit of their manufacturer. When I put together a magical brew, potion or talismen, I know that the herbs that I am using are charged with positive energy. The quality of the herbs from Wilcrafters is unsurpassed and their collection includes everything from Angelica and Coltsfoot to Vervain and Yarrow. If you haven't visited Wildcrafters Herbs & Everlasting online yet, now is a great time to start. You can visit their online store at http://www.wildcrafters.ca. Everything in their store is organically grown, ethically harvested and lovingly prepared. About Wildcrafters Herbs & Everlastings :

Wildcrafters Herbs & Everlastings is located 20 minutes south west of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is open to the public Sundays from 1-5 pm mid May to mid September each year.

The farm has been in the family for 4 generations no, each generation adding their love of nature and wild 'things' to the atmosphere of the farm. It is a peaceful, gentle place where they mow around bird's nests, help frogs hop to shady tree shelter, and take deep pleasure in observing nature while co-existing with it.

Their great grandparents, Alfred and Mary Marlow moved to the farm in 1919 in a wagon with Doris, their daughter, worldy possessions and some chickens. They had a mixed farming operation - vegetables to town to the market and cream from dairy cattle provided income as well. Their Grandad (Magnus) and Grandma (Doris) operated a dairy farm for many many years. Their family still operated the farm today -- a legacy to the hard work or their ancestors.

The herbal blends prepared on the farm are hand gathered and dried with care. A grainery serves as one drying shed, equipped with drying racks and strung wires to hang smudge bundles. The big Meadow Garden to the south of the house has a cut flower and herb garden. Herbs, from A to Z, for both culinary and medicinal purposed are planted each year. In 2004 some of the herbs will be grown in large circular patches instead of rows. Product Offerings:

Wildcrafters Herbs & Everlasting has an exclusive and extensive line of products. They sell everything from herbs and sachets to bath Salts, wood Shavings, cat Products, salves, wreaths and seeds. A taste of their products: Sage Smudge Sticks - Wands

Pat, the current owner of Wildcatters Herbs & Everlasting's collects 3 types of sages. Pat says it is peaceful and blissful gathering in the early still mornings of July and August. Pasture sage is gathered from their section and a half of land while the prairie sage is gathered locally (within 10 miles of the farm). When she receives requests for Prairie and Pasture smudge sticks she hand wrap the orders just before she send them.

Herbs:

Pat love seeds, herbs, plants, flowers and everything connected with growing, harvesting and making herbal crafts. She finds the cycle of beginnings and endings very comforting, grounding and uplifting and believe this is reflected in her products. All herb products are sold in a 3" x 4" package.

Wood Shavings

Wood shavings come in 3 x 4 inch packages to be burned as incense, placed on an altar, made into charms, or carried in pouches. The branches used are all from generous trees on the Wildcatters Herbs & Everlasting farm. They are hand shaved for each order.

Wildcatters Herbs & Everlasting's is part of Woofers:

Wwoofers stands for World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. Currently there are 30 countries in which a traveler can volunteer on a farm in exchange for room and board. The volunteer pays their own travel expenses and the host is responsible for meals and accommodation. Wwoof hosts pay a fee to be listed in the country's Wwoof book while wwoofer volunteers pay a fee to receive the book. The cost is under $50.00.

Volunteer 'work' is usually 4 to 6 hours a day with 2 days off a week. Some hosts/ farm families like you to stay a few months, others are happy with a stay of 1 to 2 weeks. All farms are incredibly different, and the point of the program (to me) is a cultural exchange, volunteer work, and seeing the local tourist attractions that appeal to each individual guest.

If you think this volunteer program is for you, please feel welcome to come to Wildcrafters herbs & everlastings. I welcome guests from mid April to mid October. My toll free number in Canada and the United States is 1-877-376-2049. Remember Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is in the middle of everywhere. If you are going across Canada - you pass through Saskatchewan! http://www.wildcrafters.ca
