Mystic Message #166

Listen for the spirit.

Sometimes the Universe redirects your life suddenly and there is nothing you can do but to sit back and watch everything and everyone change around you. The more you try to hold on to old pictures the quicker the changes come until all you can do is to ground yourself in simple ways in order to find your footing. Goals are redefined, long time friendships are washed away like chalk marks in the rain and you feel as though your soul is being tested. Again and again you try to re-invent yourself in order to survive this enforced transformation and you wonder where you will end up. Just when you think you have a handle on it all another change occurs. All options seem to be blocked except the steep hill set in front of you and you laugh at yourself for having thought that you were in control of your own destiny.

Times like this I am glad that I believe in a higher power. I have learned to accept that everything happens for a reason. I trust that no matter how difficult the struggle eventually I will be led to my highest good. Sometimes it is hard to see the whole picture especially when you are reacting emotionally to all the changes and many endings taking place.

Mother Teresa said it best, "Total surrender is to accept. If you are put in the street and everything is taken away from you, to accept. If you are put in a palace, not to put yourself in a palace, but to accept if God puts you there, to accept. To accept to be cut to pieces, today you have a good meal, tomorrow you have nothing, to accept. Then you are free."
