Change Your Thoughts and Change Your Life

Are you satisfied with the present state of your life? If your answer is no, do you know that you can change it for the better?

As a spiritual being, you have the power within you to create the life you want to live. Therefore, it rests solely with you to improve your present circumstances whatever they may be.

You must understand that you are the one who has created your present situation and that you have complete control over whatever changes you want to see in your life. Bringing about the outcomes you desire requires relatively little effort.

Manifesting your desired outcomes is governed by the immutable Law of the Universe—the Law of Cause and Effect. Your thoughts are the "cause" and what is materialized on the physical plane is the "effect." You have no control over the effect; however, you can influence the cause.

We see this universal law at work in nature. Whenever a farmer plants tomato seeds he or she can be assured that tomatoes will be appear. To see turnips would be impossible. It could never happen. That would be in violation of the law.

Similarly, whatever seeds (thoughts) you plant in the fertile soil of your mind (your inner world), you can expect to see the physical equivalent manifested in your outer (material) world. It is not your momentary passing thought that gets transmuted in the physical. Rather, what you see in your external world is due to your predominant thoughts.

Each event that you see unfolding in your life results from your thoughts, whether conscious or unconscious. Therefore, by controlling what you think about, you have the ability to bring about what you want to see in physical form.

The Law of Cause and Effect can never fail: “you reap (actualize) what you sow (think about),” regardless of whether you are conscious of the latter or not. Famed psychologist Carl Jung said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” You must, therefore, endeavor to be aware of your thoughts as much as possible at all times.

As the thinker of your thoughts, you are also the creator of your circumstances. A thought that creates an impression on your subconscious mind is ultimately manifested in your material world. The Universe cannot help to bring about outcomes that are contrary to the thoughts you’re thinking.

Ill health, lack, poor relationships and similar negatives that you do not want in your life are the effect produced by your thoughts. Focusing on them to bring about change is futile. It will only create more of the same in your life.

This fact is based on the most fundamental law of the mind and is consistent with the well-known Eastern maxim: “What you think upon grows.” Whatever it is, thinking about it gives energy to it to sustain it.

Whatever you allow to occupy your mind becomes a reality in your life. Therefore, you must change your thoughts for the better in order to change your circumstances. To achieve this end, you must practice"right thinking" by keeping your mind focused on the best in everything all the time.

The thoughts you hold in mind can make you rich or poor. Right thoughts tend to bring about prosperity; wrong thoughts tend to lead to poverty. It doesn’t matter what are your present circumstances. You can improve them by thinking thoughts of abundance.

It is not what you believe but what you give to your thoughts that produce the outcomes you desire. For example, to produce good health your thoughts must be wholesome and contain healthful qualities. At the same time, your mind must be in the subjective belief of what good health is. Similarly, to create monetary wealth you must develop a wealth consciousness.

In view of the foregoing, it is clear that thought control is the key to shaping your destiny and, hence, your life. Your experiences will come to you as a result of another universal law, the Law of Attraction. Through this law, you will meet in the outer world the experiences which correspond to those of your inner world. Your predominant thoughts, which result from your mental attitude, will act like a magnet to attract like people, events, conditions and circumstances to you.

Whatever you think, your thoughts will materialize as your experience. Therefore, you can shape your life here and now by the way you permit yourself to think each day and all day long. You are the sole architect in creating your destiny. It is completely in your hands and nobody else’s: not your parents’, or your siblings, or your spouse’s, or your employer’s, or your neighbors’, or your adversaries’. Now that you know the importance of changing and controlling your thoughts, you can take the appropriate action to create the outcomes you want to see in your life.
