Always be Prepared

We wish to invite a change of focus.

If we look closely at the focus of this world, we will find the focus in on preparing for the worst.

The focus of this world is trying to prevent the worst from happening by preparing for it.

Much energy goes into keeping this focus.

If we were to look into our preparations for living, we would see this focus in nearly everything we prepare for. The Boy scouts are correct, "Always be prepared", but what are we preparing for?

If we are look for news about our state of health, we find ourselves preparing for the worst. We prepare for disease, pain, and death. If we look at our finances, we will find that they are often based on preparing for the worst. If we look at our "insurance" policies we will find preparing for the worst is their central core. We literally stock pile defenses preparing for the worst. Preparing for our future is focused on preparing for the worst.

We wish to consider a change of focus. Consider what would happen if we prepared for the best? What would this look like? How would it feel and more importantly, what would we experience? We are not taught to prepare for the best life has to offer. Our strength is often determined by preparing to take the worst that life has to throw at us.

But consider a moment - what would happen if strength could come from preparing to receive the very best that Life has to give us?

You see, what we prepare for is what we experience. The "worst" often happens because we are prepared for it. That is our focus. Again consider, what would preparations look that prepared for the best? And by preparations we mean: what are we open to receive? Looking at the world reflected around us, are we preparing for the very best God has to offer, or are we preparing for Armageddon?

Preparing for the worst closes off our energy and narrows down the possibilities and solutions open to us. Focusing on the best allows us to receive all possible solutions. The question is: are we ready for the Best?

It isn't to pretend that the best will happen. To pretend means we still think the worst is going to happen but we will pretend it might not. It is to invite the best to happen, to shift our focus, to be open to God's Best occurring.

Translated, "being prepared" simply means, "what are we open to?" Preparing for the worst is truly a focus on our own strength and takes us into the future. Preparing for the best, allows God to be the Source of the best and brings us into the very present.

It is only a consideration, "What would it look like to prepare for the best?" but this consideration has the power to change everything we experience.

For your consideration, -- The Guides
