Going Beyond What Has Hurt Us

Often we think that whatever injury we have experienced is so much bigger than Who we are.

We forget that we are infinite and thus larger than anything that has happened to us or anything that confronts us.

This is not to deny the injury, it is to put it into perspective. The Love that we are is bigger than anything that seems to be outside of us.

When we invite our heart and the love that is within it to encompass that which has happened to us, we will begin to experience the pain dissolving. As long as we believe the injury is bigger than who we are, we will close our hearts and not see that healing is possible.

Also, if we try to get rid of the pain and fear we still carry, we will only succeed in reinforcing it and encouraging its presence, for what we focus on is what we keep and what we experience. Admit the pain, admit the resentment and then ask: "What would I like to feel instead?"

Prayer:

God help me feel Your release and blessing instead of what I hold. Help me feel Your Peace instead of my pain and injury. Help me focus on Your love to be the healing. Help me focus on Your Presence to let the past go. Help me see that with You, and Your love, my heart is bigger than anything that is in my life. Help me experience Life as a blessing.
