It is with a great deal of pleasure that I bring you Edition Five of Body Mind Spirit Magazine. This issue focuses on "Healing in Difficult Times" and has brought out the very best in all the writers who took part. When I first notified the writers about the theme for the issue, I really didn't know what to expect in response. After the events of September 11th, 2001, people were hurting and the world seemed less beautiful than it had before. I wondered if the many talented writers would be able to rise above the despair that surrounded us in order to offer us a positive outlook for the future. I'm happy to say that the answer was a resounding "Yes." This issue, more than any other before it, is filled with positive advice and deeply held wisdom. It is possible, I've learned, to rise above the hurt and trauma of recent events and to embrace love, healing and wellness. I hope that you will take the time to read the articles in this edition and become a part of this healing force--this brave and hopeful energy in the face of tragedy. On another note, I would like to welcome two new columnists to the Body Mind Spirit family. Heather Zais joins us with a wonderful new column called, "Dream Quest." Heather is a well-known medium, palmist and psychic investigator who has worked closely with the police on a number of missing persons cases in Canada. Dream Quest offers readers the opportunity to send in their dreams for interpretation and illumination. We are so very pleased to have Heather join us. Her intuition, psychic abilities and incredible honesty are a welcome edition to our growing magazine. Also joining us this month as a regular columnist is Tanis Helliwell. Tanis is the founder of the International Institute for Transformation. She is also the author of several books and a popular public speaker across the country. Tanis has much wisdom to share and we are pleased that she has decided to become a part of Body Mind Spirit Magazine. Welcome Tanis. Finally, I am pleased to tell you that in February of the New Year we are moving from a bimonthly publication to a monthly edition. The response to Body Mind Spirit Magazine has been overwhelming since it first began in April of 2000. More than 40 public library and University web sites from across Canada have linked to us and our subscription list is growing on a daily basis. At this time, I would like to thank all of our faithful readers, writers and advertisers -- those who have made this new monthly publication possible. May the New Year bring each of you love, laughter and joy. Best wishes,
