2002 is the Year of the Water Horse.

It begins February 12th, 2002.

Chinese New Years begins on a different date because the beginning must correspond to the time of the sunset in China following the 1st new moon after it leaves the sign of Capricorn and enters the sign of Aquarius.

Change is in the air. It's time to get back to basics under the influence of #4 (2002 added together is 4.)

#4 rules -- Water, cash, land, food, silver, rail, education, trades, work and age. Homeless and poverty.

In horse years it's time to saddle up and take the reins. Everyone must share the load. There could be flashbacks to the 1930s and 40s.

Great efforts will be made to stimulate industry, work and the economy. The "buck" will rise accordingly. Some "horse trading” continues.

Put the past behind you. Renew, refresh, clean-up, clean out or make a move, etc. Get rid of dead weight that has given some the swayback. This includes relationships or other situations. Be willing to start over if necessary. Unite with family or band together.

Horses are romantic, social animals so this type of activity will increase. Kick over the traces and have some fun amid the work and struggle. Friendships will be made or renewed.

A showy, parade year. Pomp and ceremony bedazzle. Awards or metals will have special significance for people or horses. A focus on the past could highlight some old "war horses."

It will be a fast-paced year. If you can't keep up then get out of the way or you could get trampled in a manner of speaking.

The #4 is like the corners of a foundation. Work from the ground up. Building increases include homes, high-rises and towers, etc. Rebuild where needed.

The need for action will add pressure to world leaders. The #4 card called the Emperor stands for: (Worldly power, confidence, wealth, authority, stability and indomitable spirit with some war-making tendencies. Intelligence and reason will be needed to control actions triggered by emotion or passion. The use of humor in the right place could save the day.

Many will marry or "get hitched" one way or another. Lasso the one you love. Be a team.

A focus on bridles and ropes will see an increased interest in hanging. Crimes of strangulation will also be in the news. Tighten the noose on the "most wanted." Green River murders will be in focus.

Water: There will be added protection or conservation. New or improved sources and uses of water power. Water safety rules could be changed or upgraded.

Iron Horse: The romance of riding the rail will see increased travel this way. Trains will be faster and better. Watch for those Hobo's.

Land rights and settlement in the news. Changes with the ALR are likely.

An interest in going back to the land and the good old days. The use of horse and buggy will increase as well

For Each Sign

Aries Family unity improves with more quality time spent together. Improve surroundings, expand or move. Deal in real estate.

Taurus A burden is lifted. Change occurs with loved ones. There could be good-byes. You fortunes rise in business and work.

Gemini Financial opportunities come out of the blue. A raise or bonus is helpful. Be willing to commute or travel a bit.

Cancer Your personal position improves and you are sure of your future. Marriage or other commitment adds to your happiness.

Leo You intuition will guide you this year. Get involved with the care or education of others. Dreams will come true.

Virgo Powerful or professional associates can help you up the ladder of success. Get involved in groups or other special projects.

Libra Your status improves. This can be personal or professional. Others may require you to take some extra responsibility.

Scorpio Your urge to expand gets you traveling or moving. Become more involved over distance. Grab the brass ring tightly.

Capricorn A focus on relationships will see your love life blossom into marriage or other "teaming up." Business improves.

Aquarius Health improves and this allows you to increase your ambitions or activity in business, love, entertainment, etc.

Pisces Your romantic life improves. Good news connects to children or family. You have the Midas touch in speculation or winning.

Last Year

Last year I said:

Events would be quick and destructive, like the strike of a snake, moving with lightening speed and unstoppable once in motion -- just like the events of September 11th and the retaliation that occurred.

I also said that if things could not be settled peacefully, then war would be declared -- it was.

Actions and reactions will continue in the year of the horse. Remain vigilant. Take the blinders off.

Historically, snake and horse years have much war activity. Remember Pearl Harbor was a snake year into horse 1942.
