It appears that the only real way to reach a level of fitness in our psychological body or psyche is by being willing to enter into the gymnasium of life. Through bravely entering the arenas of intimate relationships, career commitments and health regimes, we have a greater chance of living in a life that is firm rather than flabby! It is the reality checks that the experiences in these three areas provide that move us along our life lines to greater and deeper awarenesses and ultimately, achievements. One belief that many of us carry in one or several sub personalities is the belief that feelings eventually dissipate or vanish. Einstein and his breed of scientist/philosopher, shared that energy of any kind does not disappear. Energies are transformed into other forms of expression but linger on endlessly in one form or another. A great example would be that the energy of fat, the result of over eating and/or underexercising the body, cannot be removed from the body just through its own dissipation. It needs the requirement of heat, burning away of calories, to transform it and leave the body leaner and unencumbered. And so it appears to be with the energies of any feeling ie., love, fear, anger and sadness (and their opposites) which are our primary feelings ( yes just like there are primary colours in the colour spectrum.) So if we store too much of these feelings, like if we store too much fat, our psychological body becomes sluggish, filled with the debris of previous meals ie., emotional events. We are unable then to move through the psychological world and ultimately physical world, (yes just like over fat renders us unable to fulfill physical tasks). Any undigested feelings appear to get stored, gumming up our ‘sight’, our ability to think clearly and our ability to complete tasks and set priorities for survival both on the physical and psychological level. We need the heat of our life dramas to burn away debris, release these energies and eventually transform us. Another belief that many of us walk around with is that we can sublimate a survival need indefinitely. Basic needs will get met no matter how much we attempt to sublimate them. The power of the psyche to gets its needs met always overrides the power of the mind. So any needs will get met, yes, even if the method of meeting the need comes out sideways, it will find it way to the surface and arrange life to fulfill its need. Usually addictive behaviour shows up to feed any unmet needs that one is holding. The solution? Get acquainted with all the needs, all the sub personalities and take the time to feed them clearly and cleanly. Take on uncomfortable transformative tasks in the gymnasium of life and life will flow and fulfill you more often than not. Avoiding the gymnasium for too long can allow rust and weeds to grow in your internal garden, hampering life decisions and life force’s (nature, god’s) ability to pull in the stuff of life to fulfill your needs. Finally, once more tuned and toned, a cycle of reality-based appreciation can come through yet only after the difficult burning away of the debris of false beliefs and undigested realities and feelings. And yes, the burning hurts from time to time.
