EDTA Chelation therapy is an intravenous infusion of Ethylene Diamine Tetaacetic Acid (EDTA). EDTA binds with and removes toxic metals such as lead, iron, mercury and cadmium. Many studies exist regarding the benefits derived from the removal of metals abnormally found in the body. Over 85% of patients claim improvement and many have avoided cardiovascular surgery. Treatments are administered 2 to 3 times a week. Each treatment takes 3-4 hours and is given in a clinic of choice located throughout the province. Patients may resume normal activity immediately after treatment. The total number of treatments depends on individual need in respect to medical conditions. Assessments are made by the chelating physician who is a medical doctor. The EDTA Chelation Association of Saskatchewan is a provincial non-profit association that exists to promote the acceptance of complementary medicine as an integral part of standard medical practices. It was founded in 1993 with the executive of Dan Stewart (Pres.), John Bryde (V. Pres.) and Ned French. Harry Van Eyck, Spencer Smith and Mary Adams were added two years later. About 200 members were accumulated through to 1996. In 1996 the Executive consisted of Don Wiks (Pres.), John Bryde and Harry Van Eyck (Vice Presidents), Mary Adams (Treasurer) and Spencer Smith (Sec.), George Pauliuk, John Phillips, Glen Goby, general directors, and also presidents or designates of the nine Chapters formed in the province. Laura Schultz and Stan Voyce were secretary and treasurer respectively for one term. Spencer Smith and Mary Adams have taken over these positions. Mary Adams has resigned as treasurer and replaced by Erna Wiks in July, 2000.
Since 1996 membership grew to about 800 and tremendous strides in chelation were made. The organization grew and must continue to grow in order to help us negotiate with the government and other health agencies. In numbers, there is strength. We need this strength to change legislation and to get coverage for chelation under Medicare. Join us and help us to stand strong. -We want freedom of choice in health care -We acknowledge the Helsinki Accord signed by the Canadian Government, as follows: "In the treatment of the sick person, the physician must be free to use a new diagnostic and therapeutic measure, if in his or her judgment, it offers the hope of saving life, re-establishing health or alleviating suffering" The EDTA Chelation Therapy Association is trying to get this legislated by the provincial government. What a difference this will make! If traditional medicine has not provided you with the answers, perhaps complementary medicine has a place in your well-being! You CAN take control over your health and make informed decisions based on ALL the choices available If you are at risk for coronary artery, vascular disease or problems involving circulation. Chelation therapy may be able to help. Many true miracle stories have been told. We can provide you with literature and pertinent information. Make use of us!
